Local Info

THe Royal Burgh of Lanarks is a traditional market town dating back to 1140 and has links with William Wallace. You can still see the ruins of St Kentigerns Church where he married Marion Braidfute.

The New Lanark World Heriitage Village is only 1 mile away where you can walk to see the Falls of Clyde and maybe even see the Peregrine Falcons.

There are a number of golf courses in the area, with one of the best being in Lanark itself. This is situated next to Lanark Loch where you can feed the many swans or have a leisurely walk round and spot the odd fisherman (permits are available from the Tourist Board Shop in the town centre).

We are a short drive to Edinburgh or Glasgow, which can also be accessed by train or bus. Both stations are situated only a few minutes walk from St Catherines.

For the young and young at heart, we have M&D's theme park in Motherwell, approximately 30 minutes away.
